From Bean to Cup: A Highland Coffee Cupping Experience in Wick

If you’re visiting the Scottish Highlands this summer, especially travelling the North Coast 500 route, we invite you to join us for a unique coffee experience in Wick, Caithness.
At our roastery, we’re hosting a series of guided coffee cupping sessions designed to take you behind the scenes of specialty coffee—from raw bean to finished cup.
What is coffee cupping?
Coffee cupping is the professional method used by roasters, buyers, and producers around the world to evaluate coffee quality and flavour.
During the session, you’ll taste four different coffees side by side. We’ll guide you through the process step by step, helping you explore aroma, acidity, sweetness, body, and aftertaste.
It’s relaxed, interactive, and suitable for complete beginners—no prior coffee knowledge is needed.
What you’ll experience
In this 90-minute experience, you will:
- Taste four carefully selected specialty coffees
- Learn how professionals evaluate coffee quality
- Discover how origin, processing, and roasting affect flavour
- Hear the stories behind each coffee
- Experience a working roastery in the heart of the Highlands
This is not a formal workshop or lecture—it’s a hands-on tasting experience designed to be enjoyable, social, and memorable.
A different kind of Highland experience
Wick is often a stop along the North Coast 500, but beyond the scenery there are local makers, producers, and experiences that tell a deeper story of the region.
This cupping session is part of that—an opportunity to slow down, explore flavour, and connect with coffee in a completely different way.
Event dates
We are currently running four sessions:

- Saturday 1 August 2026 – 10:30 am - 12:00
- Saturday 22 August 2026 – 10:30 am - 120:00
Each session has limited spaces to keep the experience personal and relaxed.
