What they may not expect — at least not yet — is a small-batch coffee roastery nestled among it all. 

But for us, starting a coffee roastery in the Highlands wasn’t a business idea. It was a calling and a Passion.

A blend of place, passion, and purpose that brewed slowly over time — and when it was ready, we knew.

Born from a passion for exceptional coffee and a love for wild places, we’re not just another roastery; we’re redefining what coffee can be for Scotland and beyond.

A few words about our Journey

After years of exploring the world’s best coffee (and a stint building a tech startup), we traded busy city life for the rugged and beautiful coastline and extreme weather of Caithness.

Inspired by its people and  the untamed landscape and driven by the belief that truly great coffee should be both ethical and accessible, 58° Nørth was founded to bring a new standard of quality and sustainability to the Highlands.

We’ve always loved coffee — not just as a drink, but as a ritual. And this passion is it what we want to deliver. 

A moment of pause. A way to connect. That love grew stronger during our travels, coffee cuppings in far-off cities, and late-night chats over a perfect espresso.

But it was here, in the Highlands, where the idea truly came to life.

There’s something about the stillness of the landscape, the honesty and realiability of the people, the wild air. We wanted to create something that matched that spirit — coffee that didn’t just taste good, but "belonged" here. Coffee that felt hand-crafted, local, and true ethically sourced, environmentally friendly roasted.
